About Maremmana Country Estate Maremmana Country Estate is a unique, secure, country estate that offers a quality living experience. The developer, Peter Stuart, has modelled his idea on prestigious estates in Argentina that combine the social life of polo and other outdoor activities, with wide open spaces, wine and good food.
Some of the activities offered include: • Polo • Fly Fishing • Country Cooking • Mountain Biking • Wine Making
About Maremmana Country Estate Vineyard Lodges The Maremmana Vineyard Lodges are sectional title homes that incorporate their own private nature reserve, vineyards and trout fishing dam and are flanked by 50 carefully positioned Fynbos homes and adjoining wine farm. The Lodges overlook the polo clubhouse, shiraz vineyard and a polo field. The Lodges are positioned to allow residents privacy and spectacular views.
These tastefully designed homes will accommodate: - healthy, convenient and affordable country living - access to a private Country Club with a diary of social and sporting activities - a farm and nature reserve environment with no management responsibilities - energy-, cost-saving and solar-heating features - rental opportunities
About the site The development consists of 15 Lodges of two types (A and B). They are situated in the vineyards, adjacent to the trout dam and polo field. They have spectacular views of the Houw Hoek Mountains and south to Babilonstoring. The main access to the development is off the R43 and along the Karwyderskraal Road.
In keeping with the rural theme, the units are accessed by three separate farm roads bordered by vineyards on all sides. Parking areas have been designated between the Lodges and are screened by vineyards.
The site layout has been optimised to offer the best possible views to each Lodge, whilst the Lodge layout considers space allocation informed by the beautiful surroundings and prevailing weather conditions. There is a gentle slope from south to north which offers a beneficial elevation and maximizes outlook.
Architecture & Lodge Types A & B The Lodges have been designed to accommodate country living and activities such as fly fishing, polo, mountain biking and wine making. Each Lodge has dedicated areas for storing mountain bikes, polo tack, wine racks and fly-fishing equipment. The unit layouts are open-plan, with clear flow between kitchen, dining room, lounge and timber terrace. The first-floor bedrooms and bathrooms are enclosed within the roof space of the units. The prevailing winds are from the northwest during winter and the southwest and southeast in summer. Outside terraced spaces have therefore been created in sheltered locations to the north, with open views from the lounge, dining room and bedrooms to the south.
